Objectives
Modern media’s portrayal of the Book of Revelations tends to become lost in popular motifs that we have grown accustomed to. However, as we stray farther from the original copy, our understanding of the text changes and we lose part of what makes the original text unique and captivating. The main goal of this ’zine is to provide an interpretation of how the media has mixed with the primary text and examine the effect it creates on our idea of the end of the world.
Solutions
Focusing specifically on the interpretation of the apocalypse in the music industry, this grunge ‘zine dives into how different artists represent different passages of the book of Revelations. The ’zine compares hit songs from several generations to the primary referenced text in order to show how our modern society’s view of the end of the world has changed through time.
